Baptisms

Enquiries about Baptism should first be made to the Vicar who will arrange an initial meeting with parents. The Priest will be as accommodating as possible about the date for Baptism. Parents will complete a Baptism Application Form. A further meeting will be arranged where family and godparents together consider the Baptism Liturgy; its implication for themselves and their child; and the church community’s supporting role in nurturing the child’s Christian faith. In Baptism we are thanking God for the gift of life and marking the start of the journey of faith in the family of the Church of God. We begin the very public ministry of Christian discipleship. A tall order for all of us, but the most satisfying life anyone can possibly imagine. Baptisms are usually held on the Second Sunday of each month in St Matthew's.
