In our discussion we will consider how to be attractive to those outside the church.

The sentences in blue are supplementary questions which can be used if & as necessary. The statements in red are possible answers that you may wish to draw out in your discussion. Other pointers are in purple.

Have an A4 sheet ready to write down the answers to the following

questions… 

1i.     From your experience, describe the kind of person who is attracted to Christianity.

How would you describe those you know who attend church?

 

 

 

 

1ii.    Is there any group missing? Who? Why?

Would we like to see them in church?

Only if they behave how we think they ought?

 

 

1iii.   What does our flavour of Christianity have to offer?

2i.     What type of person was attracted to Jesus? Why?    

 

2ii.    What did Jesus do to attract them?

Went to where they were; talked to them; listened; accepted them; gave them possibilities; opened up eternity…

3i.     What must we do to become more attractive / magnetic like Jesus? (what do / go where?)

                        …as individuals?

 

 

                        …as a parish

Are we willing to do all that is necessary?
